”She presented her skills while performing a graceful, though rarely played concert of a 19th-century composer and violin virtuoso Henri Vieuxtemps. His 5th Violin Concerto in A minor was fully explored that night. I have no doubt that despite the young age, the author of this interpretation is already an unusual artistic personality with properly formed playing technique. Sound of deep, crystal clear and subjective timbre, superb intuition, lightness, grace, taste, brilliant technique… - I could enumerate the qualities on and on.”
Anna Boczan – Borodziej „Gazeta Lubuska” Zielona Góra
“After the intermission Maria Machowska, a remarkable 16-years-old violinist, who replaced previously announced soloist Barbara Górzyńska, made an appearance. It was an excellent choice. Maria proved to be an outstanding artist as she performed Karol Szymanowski’s 1st Violin Concerto so splendidly as if the piece had been composed exactly for her”.
Joanna Biegalska – „Kurier Lubelski” Lublin
“Second half of the evening was marked by the performance of Maria Machowska. Young violinist’s extraordinary talent was immediately revealed in Wieniawski’s Polonaise in D major, which she performed in a brilliant manner, with unusual emotional and charismatic approach, yet involving a lyrical timbre; articulation, tone, precision, intonation – perfect, phrasing, melody development and overall musical expression – full of warmth, intensity and personal context. All of those qualities have been fully exposed in Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Having examined the music thoroughly, the artist created truly expressive and energetic atmosphere. She developed wonderfully warm lyrical character, charmed the audience with her virtuosity, gracefulness and beauty of the musical phrases while maintaining the epic dimension of the work. We therefore witnessed Tchaikovsky’s work performed in a romantic and provocatively folk style, however also in a little sentimental, warm, tender and emotional way at the same time. Exquisite interpretation, perfectly corresponding to composer’s music and personality”.
Kazimierz Rozbicki - „Głos Pomorza”
”Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, as much as being a work of great beauty, requires from the soloist certain maturity and developed technique. Technical skills of Maria Machowska cannot be denied; listening to her is extremely pleasant thanks to her precise intonation and naturally handled articulations. The artist presented given features also in an encore - Henryk Wieniawski’s Caprice Le chant du bivouac”.
Dorota Gonet - „Gazeta Wyborcza”
”During the opening concert Great Talents, Great Expectations of the 5th edition of the Huberman Festival, the Częstochowa’s audience had a chance to listen to an excellent violinist Maria Machowska, who – despite her young age (18) – skillfully performed Peter Tchaikovsky’s Concerto in D major, op. 35. Her highly mature and virtuoso interpretation was enthusiastically received by the listeners. Her performance in the Częstochowa Philharmonic proves that the artist is likely experience a successful career on the stages of both Polish and international concert venues”.
